As you can well imagine, the past few weeks have been quite busy for Mr. Cobblestone and me as we have been moving into our new home in Maine. It has been quite the adventure and we are both simply thrilled that we decided to take this leap into a new life.
I've decided to take a short break from unpacking boxes (and boxes and boxes) to post a few pics for you. Our home is a darling two story cape, only 1 mile from the harbor.
These pics are the ones from the real estate listing when the home was for sale. The previous owners took all their furnishings, of course, but the pics will give you some idea of what the house looks like.
We are located on a beautiful wooded lot
that measures just under 2 acres.
It has a great wrap around deck,
and a large living room and kitchen.
There are two more bedrooms upstairs.
The larger one has been turned into Mr. Cobblestone's office.
And this precious space is now being converted into my studio.
I will be sure to share pics when it is finished.
We've already been hard at work making changes to the home to make it ours. The first changes were to the family room. We removed an over sized shelving unit to give the fireplace its proper status in the room. And we removed that hideous wood-burner insert to expose the brick hearth.
Ah yes, much better!
There is still a lot of laura-ing to be done to the house
to bring it up to my decorating standards,
(hey, you saw my other house),
but I'm sure we will enjoy the process.
Stay tuned ~ I'm in the mood for a mouse giveaway!!!!
Laura, it's simply adorable! Enjoy!

Oh what a beautiful home. I can not imagine being on nearly two acres of trees, sounds like heaven. So glad for you that it all worked out so perfectly. I can't wait to see your new space.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joanne. We are indeed enjoying the quiet of the wooded lot ~ and the proximity to the shore. No wonder they call this area "Where the mountains meet the sea." We're in heaven!
DeleteYour new home is lovely Laura!I hope you will be very happy there and look forward to more lovely photos

Hi Laura, how exciting to see all of your photos!! I would so love to visit, it looks beautiful!!! You have been so busy! Amazing what you have accomplished in a short time. You must sit back at times and wonder how it has all happened ;) Looking forward to seeing your studio. Hugs xx Sarah
ReplyDeleteThank-you, Sarah! You're welcome anytime. :) I am amazed we were able to remove that shelf and insert with only the few tools Mr. Cobblestone had thought to throw in the car with us. It was an afternoon filled with frustrations and laughter all at the same time.

:) You'll have great memories to look back on, and its nice putting your own mark on a house isn't it. Sounds like Mr Cobblestone is a handy sort :) Have fun with the finishing bits :) Hugs xx Sarah
ReplyDeleteWe are slowing the pace of unpacking a bit and are enjoying exploring the area too. I'm trying to not make too many changes to the house too quickly. It will be much better if I wait until after we've lived in it awhile so I know I'm doing the right things.
DeleteAnd Mr. Cobblestone is great to have around for many, many, many reason!!! ;)
Laura, I love the new house. Sorry I haven't been here sooner but I'm here now and had to tell you that I think the house which is quite nice already is going to be great after you've done your magic on it. Can't wait to see the after photos.
